Launching on Friday, October 28, Immersys is introducing Planetary Travel Networks (PTNs), a crowdfunded, player-owned business, that is sending Immersys into the next league of blockchain-based gaming. Here’s what you need to know.
What is a Planetary Travel Network?
Planetary Travel Networks (PTNs) are large content updates that are owned by players of Immersys. The planet of Altamoria features all new combat mechanics, enemies to kill, and loot to find. The original plan was to make an NFT that gives access to Altamoria and have players buy it with FATE earned by playing for free, but then we got to thinking…
The value we provide is our skill to create a game — so, why not let players own it? This is essentially crowdfunded Downloadable Content (DLC) owned by the community. Why is this so awesome? Both the Immersys Team and players can make suggestions on new major content releases that we mutually believe will benefit the game, crowdfund the development, pass the ownership of the content and features to players who fund it, and then sell the new experience as a Transport License so both players and Immersys can earn from the value created. The owners of the PTNs see revenue from this DLC for the lifetime of the game and Immersys receives a commission viewed as a maintenance fee for the lifetime of the game. So you decide, play the content for 25,000 FATE or play and own the content for 1,000,000 FATE.
All of this is baked seamlessly into player experience where if they are playing the game for the first time, they would have no idea it even exists! For new players, they are simply playing and progressing through the game, leveling up, earning FATE, and unlocking new planets to explore. Yet, it’s so much more. It’s a part of the business of Immersys that players own
How many PTN NFTs will be available?
It will depend on the content released. Our first PTN, which is Altamoria, will be looking for an explorer crew size of 40, meaning 40 NFTs. Since this is Immersys-designed content, the drop does not need to sell out for the update to be released. The option to own the PTN will be closed on November 4th, 2022 which is the update date and also is the first day Transport Licenses go on sale to players.
Are the transport licenses permanent?
Yes, they are a one-time purchase. Transport licenses are non-transferable and allow a player to access the portal on the Sphere of Fate unlimited times.
Are the PTN NFTs transferrable?
Yes, explorers who fund the creation of a new PTN will purchase a transferrable NFT which will receive its portion of the transport license sales. If you sell or transfer the PTN NFT, future sales will go to the new owner.
Will there be more PTNs in the future?
Yes, there will be more PTNs in the future as we unlock more features and develop new planets. Not every update will be of PTN size though, we are only offering PTNs for game updates that bring new experiences that warrant its own planet! Each PTN will be unique and have its own new features unique to that planet.

A probe has located a new planet [A-ST5431/B] which we’ve named Altamoria. We have performed deep scanning on this planet and provided our initial readings to our Planetary Research Team (PRT). They have compiled their initial report which indicates the following biome and ecosystem information:”

“Given these favorable planet characteristics, we are commissioning the creation of a Planetary Travel Network to Altamoria. We’re looking for a brave crew of 40 explorers to venture out into the galaxy to research and confirm our reports of the planet. The populous of Immersys will fund ship, but it will only get the crew there. Explorers are expected to fund the creation of the initial planet settlement and the construction of the travel network back to us. Initial explorers will be rewarded with ownership of the network and compensated with 80% of all future travel fees. This could be of great value to others aboard the Sphere of Fate and I’m sure there’ll be a high demand for a Transport License to Altamoria.”
